Trafalgar Apartments awarded Copper Development Association prize
In November 2013, the Trafalgar Apartments envelope restoration project was honoured with an Award of Excellence from North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA), for the roof replacement of this prestigious Montreal apartment complex. The 1931 building, located on the southwest slope of Mount Royal, with its elaborate copper roof, is reminiscent of a French Château and has become an important architectural landmark on Côte-des-Neiges Road. This restoration project, respectful of the heritage character of the roof, was completed with the highest degree of care and detail, while enhancing the durability, improving the building insulation and protection of the masonry walls. Through its Awards of Excellence program, NACIA has recognized the exemplary and distinctive quality of this unique copper roof restoration project.
