D.F.S.
Inc Architects and Gradon + Kapkin Architects join forces.
D.F.S.
Inc. Architects, with offices in Saint John and Montreal, is pleased
to announce the addition of Gradon + Kapkin Architects, Limited.
Celebrating a century of continuous operation, D.F.S. Inc., is a multifaceted
architectural firm whose origins date from 1904. The firm has operated
in Saint John since 1947. D.F.S. serves clients in the educational,
institutional, corporate, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors of
architecture.
“For over a half century, we have been committed to providing
the highest level of service to the Saint John community” said
David Fish, senior partner of D.F.S. Inc. “Joining with Gradon
+ Kapkin reasserts that commitment.”
Richard Gradon and Gaye Kapkin, co-founders of Gradon + Kapkin Architects
honed their skills in prominent Toronto firms where they developed an
expertise in law enforcement and educational architecture. Since returning
to Saint John in 1996 and establishing Gradon + Kapkin Architects, they
have produced a significant body of work in the community, focusing
on educational, institutional and corporate architecture.
As partners in D.F.S. Inc., Richard and Gaye will be the directors of
the Saint John office.
“We are excited to be joining D.F.S.” said Gaye Kapkin,
“Both firms share a dedication to excellence. Combining, strengthens
our ability to provide the best to our clients.”
D.F.S. and Gradon + Kapkin are committed to quality architecture and
believe strongly in sustainable design. The combination of the complementary
skills, resources and expertise of the two firms will allow D.F.S. Inc.
to offer an even greater range of services.
“As part of the D.F.S. team, we will be able to share the knowledge
and experience of both offices to serve clients locally and across eastern
Canada,” said Richard Gradon.
The merger is part of the continued growth of D.F.S. who earlier this
year brought on three new Montreal based partners with extensive experience
in historic restoration, pharma/biotech and environmentally sensitive
architecture.
